(MyFantasyLeague.com Fantasy Times Sources - Dec 28, 2009) In a week 16 Erie League 11 showdown, *Manhattan Mean Machine squeaked by a tough *Woodbridge Sora team by a score of 115.60 to 110.10, extending the winning streak for *Manhattan Mean Machine to 3 games.
*Manhattan Mean Machine were led to their 5.50 point victory by a 21.40 point effort from Eli Manning, who got by the Carolina Panthers defense for 296 passing yards and 1 passing TD in addition to 6 rushing yards. They also got help from a 19.30 point effort from LaDainian Tomlinson, who snuck past the Tennessee Titans defense for 59 rushing yards and 2 rushing TDs in addition to 4 receiving yards. "We sent a message here today," *Manhattan Mean Machine coach Nils Mai said. *Woodbridge Sora were helped out in a losing cause by a 27.70 point effort from Adrian Peterson, who got by the Chicago Bears defense for 94 rushing yards and 2 rushing TDs in addition to 43 receiving yards. With this performance, Peterson was the number 5 ranked overall fantasy scorer for week 16. They also got help from a 25.90 point effort from Chris Johnson, who beat the San Diego Chargers defense for 142 rushing yards and 1 rushing TD in addition to 37 receiving yards. "They out-muscled us," *Woodbridge Sora coach Sam D said. Compounding the issue, *Woodbridge Sora could have scored 125.20 points and earned the win with their best lineup, but Sam D left key players like Jonathan Stewart and his corresponding 30.20 points on the bench. *Woodbridge Sora drew the short straw with their schedule this week, as their point total would have resulted in a win against 8 out of 10 other potential opponents in week 16. This brings the record for *Manhattan Mean Machine to 8-7, and drops *Woodbridge Sora to a record of 6-9. | ||
